Free Abridgement of Biocentrism. How life creates the universe. Authors say cosmology misses the big picture unless it includes biology. Stem-cell guru Robert Lanza presents a radical new view of the universe and everything in it.

Biocentrism Explored. Rethinking Time, Space, and the Nature of the Universe. Lanza has teamed with Bob Berman, the most widely read astronomer in the world, to produce Biocentrism , a revolutionary new view of the universe.

Every now and then a simple yet radical idea shakes the very foundations of knowledge. The startling discovery that the world was not flat challenged and ultimately changed the way people perceived themselves and their relationship with the world.

For most humans of the 15th century, the notion of Earth as ball of rock was nonsense. Biocentrism completes this shift in worldview, turning the planet upside down again with the revolutionary view that life creates the universe instead of the other way around.

In this paradigm, life is not an accidental byproduct of the laws of physics. Biocentrism takes the reader on a seemingly improbable but ultimately inescapable journey through a foreign universe—our own—from the viewpoints of an acclaimed biologist and a leading astronomer.

Switching perspective from physics to biology unlocks the cages in which Western science has unwittingly managed to confine itself. At the same time it will release us from the dull worldview of life being merely the activity of an admixture of carbon and a few other elements; it suggests the exhilarating possibility that life is fundamentally immortal.

The 21st century is predicted to be the Century of Biology, a shift from the previous century dominated by physics.

It seems fitting, then, to begin the century by turning the universe outside-in and unifying the foundations of science with a simple idea discovered by one of the leading life-scientists of our age.

Biocentrism awakens in readers a new sense of possibility, and is full of so many shocking new perspectives that the reader will never see reality the same way again.

Recipient of the Nobel Prize in Medicine and Physiology. Now, mind you, my motivation was not all that pure.

It was my intention to read the book so I could more effectively refute it like a dedicated physicist was expected to…The book had the completely opposite effect on me.

The views that Dr. Lanza presented in this book changed my thinking in ways from which there could never be retreat.

Before I had actually finished reading the book, it was abundantly obvious to me that Dr. Everything I had learned and everything I thought I knew just exploded in my mind and, as possibilities first erupted and then settled down, a completely new understanding emerged.

It is an elementary conclusion from quantum mechanics. So what Lanza says in this book is not new. Then why does Robert have to say it at all?

It is because we, the physicists, do NOT say it—or if we do say it, we only whisper it, and in private—furiously blushing as we mouth the words.

True, yes; politically correct, hell no! Bless Robert Lanza for creating this book, and bless Bob Berman for not dissuading friend Robert from going ahead with it.

You should enjoy this book, and it should help you on your personal journey to understanding. His theory of biocentrism is consistent with the most ancient traditions of the world which say that consciousness conceives, governs, and becomes a physical world.

It is the ground of our Being in which both subjective and objective reality come into existence…I agree more with [Lanza] than with anyone else that I have ever met.

The Grand Biocentric Design. How Life Creates Reality. The theory that blew your mind in Biocentrism and Beyond Biocentrism is back, with brand-new research revealing the startling truth about our existence.

Rethinking Time, Space, Consciousness, and the Illusion of Death Biocentrism shocked the world with a radical rethinking of the nature of reality.

Lanza "altered the genetics of chickens in his basement," and came to the attention of Harvard Medical School researchers when he appeared at the university with his results.

Jonas Salk , B. Skinner , and Christiaan Barnard mentored Lanza over the next ten years. Lanza was also a Fulbright Scholar.

He currently resides in Clinton , Massachusetts. Lanza was part of the team that cloned the world's first early stage human embryos, [3] [4] as well as the first to successfully generate stem cells from adults using somatic-cell nuclear transfer therapeutic cloning.

Lanza demonstrated that techniques used in preimplantation genetic diagnosis could be used to generate embryonic stem cells without embryonic destruction.

In , he was also the first to clone an endangered species a Gaur , [8] and in , he cloned an endangered wild ox a Banteng [9] from the frozen skin cells of an animal that had died at the San Diego Zoo nearly a quarter-of-a-century earlier.

Lanza and his colleagues were the first to demonstrate that nuclear transplantation could be used to reverse the aging process [10] and to generate immune-compatible tissues, including the first organ grown in the laboratory from cloned cells.

Lanza showed that it is feasible to generate functional oxygen-carrying red blood cells from human embryonic stem cells under conditions suitable for clinical scale-up.

The blood cells could potentially serve as a source of "universal" blood. His team discovered how to generate functional hemangioblasts a population of "ambulance" cells [14] from human embryonic stem cells.

In animals, these cells quickly repaired vascular damage, cutting the death rate after a heart attack in half and restoring the blood flow to ischemic limbs that might otherwise have required amputation.

In Lanza and a team led by Kwang-Soo Kim at Harvard University reported a method for generating induced pluripotent stem iPS cells by incubating them with proteins, instead of genetically manipulating the cells to make more of those proteins.

Lanza's team at Advanced Cell Technology were able to generate retinal pigmented epithelium cells from stem cells, and subsequent studies found that these cells could restore vision in animal models of macular degeneration.

In , ACT received approval from the Food and Drug Administration for clinical trials of a pluripotent stem cell-based treatment for use in people with degenerative eye diseases.

The results of the first two clinical trials were published in the Lancet in , [27] with a follow up paper in , [28] which provided the first published reports of the long-term safety and possible biologic activity of pluripotent stem cell progeny into humans.

Lanza's biocentric hypothesis met with a mixed reception. It is the ground of our Being in which both subjective and objective reality come into existence.

Nobel laureate Physiology or Medicine E. Donnall Thomas stated that "Any short statement does not do justice to such a scholarly work. The work is a scholarly consideration of science and philosophy that brings biology into the central role in unifying the whole.

I certainly don't see how thinking his way would lead you into any new sort of scientific or philosophical insight.

Work with Christiaan Barnard. I spent a couple of years rolling pennies and eating canned spinach and pasta while I tried to understand the universe.

From Wikipedia : The h-index measures both the productivity and impact of a scientist or scholar. A value of about 18 could mean a full professorship, 15—20 could mean a fellowship in the American Physical Society, and 45 or higher could mean membership in the United States National Academy of Sciences.

According to Hirsch who put forward the h-index , an h index of 20 is good, 40 is outstanding, and 60 is truly exceptional. Omni Magazine is back.

What if you could travel through time just like you navigate space? The journey starts here. What sustains us in and above the void of nothingness?

New experiments suggest part of us exists outside of the physical world. Yet experiments show just the opposite.

Experiments suggest we create time, not the other way around. Life is just one fragment of time, one brushstroke in a picture larger than ourselves, eternal even when we die.

A long list of scientific experiments suggests our belief in death is based on a false premise. Experiments suggest life cannot be destroyed. Can life really be reduced to the laws of physics, or are we part of something more noble and triumphant?

The contemplation of time and the discoveries of modern science suggest that the mind is the ultimate reality, paramount and limitless.

An amazing set of experiments suggest that events in the future may influence things happening in the world now. The past, present and future are inseparably entangled.

Why out of all of existence do you get to be, say, just a plumber or a hairdresser — followed by nothingness for the rest of eternity. We suppose ourselves to be a pond; and if there is any justice, it must approach upon these shores.

But there are consequences to our actions that transcend our ordinary, classical way of thinking. Ideally, our concepts of nature and God should adapt to our evolving scientific knowledge.

Relative to the supreme creator, we humans would be much like the microorganisms we scrutinize under the microscope. What happens if we project our current scientific knowledge into the future?

A new scenario suggests the evolution of a new concept of God. All human knowledge is relational. Both science and religion appear to be honing in on a deeper reality, one totally ignored by most people until now.

It appears increasingly likely that our universe is not a closed system and that science may not be playing with a full deck. Biocentrism unlocks the cage Western science has unwittingly confined itself.

By allowing the observer into the equation opens new approaches to understanding everything from the tiny world of the atom to our views of life and death.

We take physics as a kind of magic and think everything just popped into existence one day out of nothingness. Sometime in the future science life will finally figure out how to escape from its corporeal cage.

Einstein believed he could build from one side of nature — the physical, without the other side — the living. But he was a physicist, and as such, missed what was outside his window.

Based on cutting edge work in physics and biology and explained with exceptional clarity, Beyond Biocentrism is must reading for anyone interested in science and religion.

It offers a neurobiological point of view to help answer questions about the world around us. Lanza and Berman make the journey towards a better understanding of the role of consciousness and perception.

I liked the book quite a lot! It was a fun read. In Beyond Biocentrism , stem cell pioneer Robert Lanza, writing with astronomer Bob Berman, presents a lucid tour de force of his thrilling but controversial theory that consciousness creates reality and the cosmos itself.

Will machines ever achieve consciousness? Are plants aware? Is death an illusion? These are some of the big questions tackled in Beyond Biocentrism , which serves up a new, biology-based theory of everything that is as delightful to read as it is fascinating.

Tremendously clear and lovely writing — a huge achievement. Beyond Biocentrism is an enlightening and fascinating journey that will forever alter your understanding of your own existence.

Beyond Biocentrism is a must read for anyone who has ever wondered where modern science and the weirdness of relativity and quantum mechanics is going.

What does it all mean? Brilliant and insightful. Few books come along in our lives that change the way we see the world.

Beyond Biocentrism is such a book. The first thing I must say about this book it that there are not enough stars to describe what a good read this book truly is… I studied physics and can say for myself that I have a mind of a scientist that is over loaded with logic.

I read so many books about the topic, I lost count. That was until I came across this book. Authors finally put it all together for me that both my scientific, logical mind and my spiritual mind could put it all together in a manner that it finally all made sense… This book opened my eyes to possibilities that no one has ever presented in such a concise and beautiful way before… it is priceless and I am keeping it as a reference in my library.

It has underlining all over the place and I just cannot stop talking about it to everyone I know. The fact is, Lanza is just presenting what has been discovered through the scientific process, not preaching any type of doctrine.

Perhaps the highest praise I can give a book is that it is thought provoking and original…so very few books manage one or the other…this does both quite well.

Initially the book sounded intriguing how could it not? The author avoided those traps with ease. These are not conspiracy theories not do they attempt to negate science — it is simply a statement about the known limits as currently found in science today.

Those form the foundation for what could be possible alternative perspectives held throughout history. Once the reader has found a footing the real fun begins.

Very engaging, reader friendly, original and thought provoking. If the last time you picked up a book on physics you read about string theory, you will be surprised that the physics world has moved on.

Biocentrism is a new focus. I never took physics — which my husband reminds me when I hang up his pants incorrectly he hangs them up now — but am fascinated by the deep metaphysical questions as to clues to how we are supposed to live our life.

What matters? What are the laws governing the universe, and what are their implications for us? This book can be a page-turner if you are interested in those topics.

Something that makes sense of it all!!! Every page has another revelation. Life changing is not a stretch with this one.

That was the most poignant and comprehensive account of modern physics in a long time. But this treatment is more comprehensive, considered several aspects and Disciplines in unravelling the greatest mysteries in science … I wish I could articulate this better, but never mind — just read this book!!!!

First, let me say that I write as a Christian, one who takes the Bible very seriously. And second, this is not a Christian book, nor does it purport to be.

That said, let me begin. This book is a great—and readable—review of quarks and such, as well as atomic theory, electromagnetism, gravity another mystery , and other forces.

Even more, this can be read, and reread, in small pieces. You can easily put it down and pick it up again. It lies deeper. Retrieved Scientific American.

This new theory is certain to revolutionize our concepts of the laws of nature for centuries to come.

Now, mind you, my motivation was not all that pure. It was my intention to read the book so I could more effectively refute it like a dedicated physicist was expected to.

I consider myself to be firmly and exclusively entrenched in the cosmology camp embodied by the likes of Stephen Hawking, Lisa Randall, Brain Greene, and Edward Witten.

After all, you know what Julius Caesar said: Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. It became necessary to penetrate the biocentrism camp.

The book had the completely opposite effect on me. The views that Dr. Lanza presented in this book changed my thinking in ways from which there could never be retreat.
